New beauty salon opens in Bourne End
A new beauty salon has opened in Bourne End offering customers the chance to brush up on the latest industry trends and treatments.
Your Beauty Salon, in 65 The Parade, opened on February 1 after undergoing renovations including building two therapy rooms.
Salon owner Ludmila ‘Lucy’ Kuzmina, 55, said there had already been ‘lots of positive feedback’.
“There’s a lovely community in Bourne End, it’s quite a posh village and the location is perfect for the business,” she said.
“We joined a local neighbourhood app and people have said they want us to be successful because it’s what’s needed in the area.
“I have a small but really good team and I’m really pleased with what we do – and the people who come to us have given lots of positive feedback.”
Lucy has a background in the health and care sector but said she had always had an interest in starting a beauty business and has studied for her own qualifications.
She said: “My goal for the business is to provide services for the clients from what I say ‘nose to toes’.
“If you want your hair done – we can do that – if you want your eyebrows done – we can do that – as well as massages, manicures and pedicures.”
In addition, Your Hair and Beauty Salon offers some unique treatments including hydrotherapy massage beds, thermal paraffin glove massages and vitamin injections.
Emily Nessing, manager at the salon, is a registered nurse who worked in an A & E department and who Lucy said had around 15 qualifications in beauty as well as the training needed for injection procedures.
She added: “I said to Emily when I recruited her – I must have done something good in my previous life to have found you.”
Men are also encouraged to visit the salon. Lucy said her husband Derrick took a vitamin B12 injection, designed to improve hair and nails, to help with fatigue while working on renovating the interior.
“We have already regular customers who come for the B12,” said Lucy. “They can have a five-week course and then I say you can come back monthly for a top up after that.”
Your Beauty Salon is open from Monday to Wednesday between 8am and 6pm, and between 10am and 10pm from Thursday to Saturday.
